Introduction
For this project we had to solve a current world issue with biotechnology. This project was separated into seven stages. In stage one we had to identify six world problems and research them individually. Once we identified a problem we want to focus on, in depth research begins. Each group member chooses a solution and does more research. In stage three, we choose our solution to ocean acidification, engineering a bacteria. In stage four groups created a plan to test their project. In stage 5 and 6 groups carried out the tests or attempted to theoretically. Finally, in stage seven groups created there presentation.
Presentation
Here is our Google Slides presentation.
Content
Acidification: Ongoing decrease in the pH of the Earth's oceans, caused by the uptake of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
Ocean: Large body of slat concentrated water, covers 71% of globe.
Greenhouses Gasses: Gaseous compound in the atmosphere that is capable of absorbing infrared radiation, thereby trapping and holding heat in the atmosphere.
CO2: Carbon Dioxide, dissolves into ocean and lowers pH.
pH: Numeric scale used to specify the acidity or basicity of an aqueous solution.
Halophiles: Organisms that thrive in high salt concentrations
Bioremediation: Waste management technique that involves the use of organisms to neutralize pollutants from a contaminated site.

Conclusion
This project was very long and tedious. I feel like I couldn't really say whether or not our idea would even work. We had no way to test it and I certainly wish we could have. Our presentation went very well though we were clear and identify a reasonable solution to a pressing world problem. During this project we learned more of the unintended consequences of mass global pollution. We also researched ways we could introduce something new to an ecosystem. Our group as a whole really needed to work on our work ethic. We also could of spent more time practicing our presentation to make it a little more smooth. Overall I think we did a really good job. We effectively and efficiently solved our problem in a feasible way.
